Tommy Chang was my manager and good friend at TigerDirect back when I was working with their web team. For some reason, our manager Dan would sometimes launch into this tazmanian-jack-black-esque skit about Tommy's temper where Tommy either threatens to punch people or gets punched in the face. I can't remember why. But it was fucking hilarious to the point of putting people in tears. While trying to learn Flash, I decided I would create a simple game where you did absolutely nothing but punch him. There would be no point, other than. With his blessing, we released it to the world. And the rest is history. Well, at least to the 200 people in on the joke. Version 2 was created when Tommy continually went into the MIS department to reboot the web servers and got in trouble with them. Will there be a fully featured Punch Tommy Chang game in the future? Of course. But I gotta a) work and b) finish Pinkslip first!"
What started out as a small office joke, Punch Tommy Chang soon became one of the biggest office jokes ever. Made by my good friend, the very talented and wedding picture stealing Yanier Gonzalez back in the day when the great TigerDirect website was in its infancy. Good times.
